Our People (HR) department is a small team of 2. While we might be small, we have an enormous passion for our people. We believe in promoting exceptional customer service, teamwork, curiosity, continuous learning, and more importantly having fun!

The Oval team includes 80 regular full-time and 250 auxiliary or casual employees, as well as 250 volunteers. Our people work for various departments including Community Sports, Fitness & Wellness, High Performance, Member Care, Operations, Retail, Events, Richmond Olympic Experience (ROX), Finance, HR, Marketing and Communications, and IT. We have been growing since just before the Winter Olympics (December 12, 2008 to be exact)!

We wanted to start this blog to show you what makes the Oval stand out as one of the most exciting multi-sport facilities to be apart of. Through people and culture storytelling, we hope to inspire Oval fanatics as well as both current and future employees alike. In this blog you will find features on how we are evolving HR trends, what our awesome staff are up to (#OvalLife), expanding on our super cool values and more!

People (HR) Departments are continuously evolving to keep up with their forward-thinking organizations and we can only improve through adopting an open approach to feedback.
